AgilQuest Receives U.S. Patent on Workplace Management Platform

Richmond, VA October 20,2007 - The US Patent and Trademark Office has awarded U.S. Patent No. 7,289,619 to AgilQuest Corporation for innovative aspects of AgilQuest’s OnBoard® Workplace Management Platform, including its telephony system integration and methods that facilitate user portability.

OnBoard serves the facility and real estate management team by managing all permanent, collaborative and shared workspaces, measuring their actual use, and producing the business intelligence necessary to support space planning, building consolidations, lease analysis and reprogramming of space. OnBoard serves an organization’s workforce by allowing workers to choose their location to work, book conference rooms and equipment, locate colleagues, and support self-moves.

Over the last ten years advancements in technology have enabled workforce mobility. Today employees have a better way of working, but the office space and its management processes, to a large extent, have not become flexible and agile enough to support it. The impact is dramatic. It is now commonplace to see the actual utilization of commercial office space as low as 30% to 50% on any given day.

AgilQuest’s Workplace Management Platform provides the workforce the ability to work whenever, wherever they need in an organization’s real estate portfolio, and automatically delivers their telephone extensions to the room they’ve selected. This mechanism creates value for the worker by helping them become immediately connected to their voice communications, turning any office into “their” office. So workers can now select a room near their team for the duration they need to be together, avoid long delays in effecting that move and spend their time working rather than waiting for the optimum place to work.

Coupled with the many other functions of OnBoard, this capability indicates at any given moment which workspaces are vacant or available for use creating tremendous value to the organization. For example, accurate data about office vacancies and actual use can mean tens of millions of dollars saved in real estate cost reduction or avoidance. In addition, exposing office availability across many facilities significantly improves an organization’s business continuity by giving workers the information they need to find another place to work when a building becomes unavailable for use.

John Vivadelli, AgilQuest’s founder and Chief Executive Officer said, “We are proud that the U.S. Patent Office has recognized our innovations and achievements in workplace management technologies and processes. Our patented system and methods support the ever-increasing need to maintain or improve worker productivity while efficiently and effectively managing an organization’s second largest expense, real estate.”

With the real-time workplace information provided by OnBoard, workers choose the resources they need to be productive and real estate managers can make better invest/divest decisions and optimize the design of their workplace.

About AgilQuest Corporation

AgilQuest provides software and service solutions for the entire breadth of an organization’s space management needs, including hoteling, conference room management, and move management. But we don’t stop there. We measure the amount of office space an organization’s workforce actually needs so that managers can more efficiently and effectively manage the real estate portfolio. We provide management the tools necessary to reduce or avoid real estate costs, often in the tens of millions annually, and make life easier for employees by allowing them to choose workplaces, find availability of empty rooms and locate colleagues.

Unlike applications that simply book or assign rooms, AgilQuest’s platforms integrate with your building systems to systematically and accurately measure the actual use of an entire real estate portfolio to improve worker productivity and produce real bottom line benefits.
