John Vivadelli, AgilQuest CEO, Selected as Finalist for Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award

AgilQuest announced today that their CEO, John Vivadelli, was selected as a finalist for the Ernst & Young 2001 Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The annual award recognizes the successful business owners who are employers and large contributors vital to the success of Virginia’s economic future.

“I am very honored to be selected as a finalist,” said Mr. Vivadelli. “I’ve worked diligently for many years to insure AgilQuest is successful – the company’s excellent performance to date is a testament to the quality of its employees and their consistent effort toward our common goal.”

Mr. Vivadelli founded AgilQuest in 1994 with the vision of creating a dynamic network of reservable office space – office space that encompassed not only the corporate office, but also business suites, homes, and other distributed work environments. Mr. Vivadelli understood that technology was rapidly enabling workers to perform their jobs outside the walls of the traditional office. This newfound business mobility created the need for accessible office space wherever the workers went, and offered organizations the opportunity to divest themselves of poorly utilized office space and decrease their occupancy costs by up to 50%.

Prior to launching AgilQuest, Mr. Vivadelli served a lengthy, landmark-establishing tenure at IBM. Beginning as a Marketing Representative, his efforts and innovations earned him the award of IBM Marketing Representative of the Year. Following that, Mr. Vivadelli was promoted to Manager of IBM Marketing & Services, and was later made a Principal of the IBM Consulting Group. Mr. Vivadelli was honored with the title of President of IBM’s “100% Club”--an accolade given to IBM’s top salesperson in the U.S.

John Vivadelli earned his B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering form the University of Colorado. He went on to qualify as Engineering Officer on board the nuclear submarine USS Silversides, SSN 679. Today, he remains a Commander in the Naval Reserves; and he donates time to his local community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Richmond YMCA, and as an active member of the Richmond Metro Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Vivadelli lives with his wife, Stephany, and their five children.
